MVNU’s Donnelly ‘Still Chasing Faroe’

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University art professor John Donnelly was recently accepted into the OH+5, 2018 Ohio Border 11th Biennial Exhibition juried competition consisting of artists from six states. Donnelly’s artwork “Still Chasing Faroe,” an installation of 300 paintings and drawings, is on display until March 17.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University has recently been featured on a number of national rankings including Money Magazine and LendEDU.com.

Money Magazine ranked the university fourth in the nation for awarding large merit scholarships. Forty-six different colleges and universities made this exclusive list based on graduation rates, the percentage of undergraduate students who receive merit scholarships, and how much of the overall cost of attendance is covered by these scholarships.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — SonFest, Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s annual outdoor Christian music festival, celebrated its 20th Anniversary of fellowship, community, and Christian music and welcomed thousands of fans to the Grove of the MVNU campus on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017. Christian music artist Plumb headlined the event along with many other bands.

MOUNT VERNON, OH — Mount Vernon Nazarene University senior Tierany Lyons will display her thesis exhibition, “My Skin Grew Thin” at Schnormeier Gallery, 221 S. Main St.,  on Nov. 27, 2017, through Dec. 7, 2017. An Artist Talk will take place on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m., with a gallery reception being held the following day, Friday, Dec. 1, from 6-8 p.m.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University to Launch Men’s Lacrosse

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Athletic Department is excited to announce the launch of men’s lacrosse as the latest sport offering at MVNU. The program will begin as a club sport in the fall of 2018 with plans to move to varsity status in 2019-20, becoming MVNU’s 19th varsity program.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University cross country teams were involved in a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. in Shelby, Ohio, in Richland County. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams and coach were traveling northbound on South Gamble Street in Shelby when a semi-tractor trailer went left of center and struck two vehicles traveling with MVNU.

Koukl is a Christian apologist, author, speaker, and founder of Stand to Reason. Koukl will speak on “The Intolerance of Tolerance” on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. in Faculty 105. Koukl will also present “The Moral Bankruptcy of Relativism” on Thursday evening at 7:15 p.m. in the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium. These events are free and open to the public.
